Acadia University in 1972 and
M.A. (English) from Queen's
University in 1979

David has been awarded five honorary
doctorate degrees, one each from
Queen's University (1994), Acadia
University (1995), McGill
University (2003), University
of Tampa (2004), and State University of New York, Plattsburgh (2005)

On June 6, 2010, David was awarded a Ph. D. from the
Hebrew University of Jerusalem
for his dissertation for the Department of English on the topic of
"The Sky in Early Modern English Literature: A Study of Allusions to Celestial Events in Elizabethan and Jacobean Writing, 1572-1610."

David is adjunct scientist and
member of the National Advisory Board for the
Flandrau Science Center in
Tucson, on the campus of the
University of Arizona, near the
Lunar & Planetary Laboratory.
